Israeli prosecution has decided to extend the detention of the Palestinian prisoner Ismail al-Nattah 43 for four months a few hours after he was informed of his release from Negev prison following an eight-month sentence in administrative detention.
Spokeswoman for the Palestinian Prisoners Center for Studies in the West Bank Amina Tawil said that the Israel Prison Service at Negev jail told al-Nattah who had his administrative detention renewed twice that he will be released once his sentence ends.
Tawil added that al-Nattah’s family on Wednesday headed to al-Dhahiriya checkpoint south of al-Khalil where they were supposed to receive their son as promised but they were greatly shocked by the new decision.
According to Tawil the Israeli occupation forces on 23rd July 2017 broke into al-Nattah’s house in Idhna town in al-Khalil wreaked havoc on it and arrested him. Al-Nattah was first imprisoned for four months then his detention was extended for another four months without charge or trial.
Ismail al-Nattah is an Islamic preacher and an ex-prisoner who previously served five years in Israeli jails.
