The Palestinian prisoner Muhammad Daoud has been suffering from a very serious health deterioration due to the deliberate medical negligence he was subjected to in Israeli custody over the past 35 years.
Last Wednesday Daoud was transferred from Ashkelon prison to the Israeli Barzlai Hospital after suffering sharp stomach pains.
Doctors decided to remove his intestines due to his serious health condition.
Daoud has been suffering from severe problems in the stomach and intestines for a long time. He also suffers from psoriasis and dental problems. But he did not receive any medical treatment.
Daoud has been in prison since December 1987 and is sentenced to life in prison. He is one of the oldest-serving Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.
He is also one of 25 Palestinians who have been in Israeli prisons before the 1993 Oslo Agreement and who Israel rejected to release in 2014 leading to the failure of Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations at the time.
