Palestinian refugees from Syria in Lebanon welcome Ramadan

The Action Group for Palestinians in Syria said that Palestinian refugee families from Syria in Lebanon are “burdened with worries and troubles high prices instability and insecurity.”

The Action Group released a new report describing the difficult economic conditions suffered by Palestinian refugees from Syria in Lebanon during the holy month of Ramadan due to the Lebanese economic crisis which resulted in unprecedented rises in prices of food and essential commodities.

The Palestinian refugee Abu Yousef who lives in Ain al-Hilweh camp said that Ramadan had a different taste in Yarmouk refugee camp back in Syria where people were enjoying night gathering after Taraweeh prayers.

This year’s Ramadan has a painful taste due to the very difficult living conditions high unemployment rates and UNRWA aid cut he said.

Another Palestinian refugee who lives along with his 6 family members in his relative’s house in Rashidieh camp south of Lebanon called on the international community to provide security to Palestinian refugees from Syria in Lebanon till their return to their homeland.

For her part the young Palestinian woman Dareen from Handarat camp said that she has no idea about Ramadan rituals in Palestine as she was born in Lebanon.

The elderly Abu Yasser who lives in Nahr al-Bared camp said that he kept praying to the Almighty for his return to his homeland from where he was forcibly displaced 73 years ago.

The Action Group for Palestinians in Syria shared several stories of Palestinian refugee families from Syria in Lebanon in which they shed light on their unbearable living conditions.
