BEIRUT (PIC)– Palestinian refugees in Lebanon closed off UNRWA’s offices in different areas in Lebanon as well as the bus stations leading to UNRWA’s main headquarters in Beirut.
These protest moves organized over almost two months came in response to UNRWA’s policy of reducing its services on many levels especially the serious deduction of services in medical treatment.
Palestinian refugees closed the main office of UNRWA for two days in the current week and for the fourth time in three weeks.
The protest actions are going on in an escalatory pace within plans and programs directed by “the UNRWA’s crisis cell” which expresses the demands and humanitarian rights of Palestinians in the refugee camps based in Lebanon.
The refugees are supposed to organize on Friday morning February 19 a sit-in before the European Union headquarters in Beirut as well as to submit a memo of the refugees’ demands.
