GAZA (PIC)– Two Palestinian armed wings have claimed responsibility for firing three mortar shells at an IOF position adjacent to the Gaza Strip in retaliation to the Israeli excavations at the Aqsa Mosque.
A joint communiqué for the armed wings of the Fatah faction and PFLP took the credit for firing the three shells at the IOF base east of Abul Ajin last night.
The statement said that sounds of the explosions were heard inside the camp and added that all fighters returned safely to bases.
The shelling is a preliminary reprisal to Israel’s continued diggings at the Aqsa Mosque the statement concluded.
