GAZA (PIC)– An informed security source said on condition of anonymity that the Palestinian security apparatuses in the Gaza Strip discovered attempts by some people who fled to Israel and Egypt to dump large amounts of drugs in the Strip in coordination with the Shabak.
The source told Al-Majd website on Saturday that a number of Israel’s collaborators who fled years ago from Gaza are attempting to smuggle different kinds of drugs into the Strip through tunnels in Rafah border area and Gaza crossings.
He affirmed that the security forces managed to thwart the smuggling of four-kilogram cocaine from Egypt into Gaza pointing out that the drug dealer who is responsible for this failed attempt is living in Beersheba.
“For four years the drug control department has been following one of the collaborators who fled to Beersheba inside Israel then communicated with someone close to him and knew the details of transferring drugs from Israel to Sinai in Egypt” the sources explained.
He added that this collaborator dealt with a Palestinian fugitive in Egypt to smuggle drugs into Gaza but the drug control department arrested days ago a member of this ring red-handed smuggling drugs in a backpack in Rafah area.
The smuggler was interrogated and revealed serious information about a ring of collaborators operating in Israel and Egypt.
