Unknown armed persons assassinated a member of the Palestinian National Security Forces late Friday in the Palestinian refugee camp of Mieh Mieh in the southern city of Sidon.
The assassination of Mohammed Abu Mgasib triggered security tension in the camp. Heavy gunfire was heard after he was killed as Palestinian security forces members took to the streets in protest.
The Palestinian national forces held an urgent meeting to prevent further deterioration while an investigative committee was formed to look into the incident.
