A Palestinian woman was killed on Saturday by Israeli gunfire at the Qalandia military checkpoint north of Occupied Jerusalem. The Israeli police claimed the woman attempted to carry out a stabbing attack.
The Israeli police statement said “A suspected person carrying a knife arrived a short time ago at the Qalandia checkpoint and a guard fired at her and wounded her.”
The police did not mention the condition of the Palestinian woman’s injury but footage broadcasted by the official Hebrew channel Kan from the scene showed a woman lying motionless on the ground.
Eyewitnesses said that the Israeli soldiers refused to allow Palestinian ambulance crews to treat the critically wounded woman and left her to bleed for hours. They described the incident as outright “execution”.
