A Palestinian worker from al-Khalil was shot and killed by Israeli police in Ashkelon to the north of the Gaza Strip on Tuesday morning.
Israeli media sources claimed that a Palestinian worker in his 40s stabbed an Israeli officer before being shot dead.
The police officer began checking a person who was behaving suspiciously when “the attacker pulled out a knife and attacked the officer” the sources added.
The officer “responded quickly fired and neutralized the suspect whose death was declared on site.” The officer suffered minor injuries police said.
