Israeli soldiers on Saturday morning opened fire at a Palestinian young man and critically wounded him near Za’atara checkpoint in Nablus north of the occupied West Bank.
According to eyewitnesses Israeli ambulances rushed to the area of the checkpoint after hearing gunshots.
Meanwhile the Israeli occupation army intensified its presence in the area and closed the checkpoint in both directions.
The Hebrew radio claimed the wounded young man tried to carry out a stabbing attack.
