A Palestinian young man managed on Saturday morning to sneak into an Israeli military post in the south of the occupied West Bank and set it alight before withdrawing from the place.
Local sources said that the young man set a watchtower aflame inside the army post which is located at the main entrance of al-Arroub refugee camp in northern al-Khalil.
The sources added that Israeli soldiers were asleep at the time and woke up after the blaze spread in their place.
Afterwards Israeli ambulances rushed to the site and evacuated a number of soldiers who suffered from burns and smoke inhalation.
Senior Hamas official Abdul-Rahman Shadeed applauded the arson raid on the Israeli army site in al-Khalil as a “heroic act” and called for targeting more Israeli military and settler sites with Molotov cocktails.
