Violent clashes broke out on Friday evening between Palestinian young men and Israeli forces in Azzun town east of Qalqilya in the occupied West Bank.
According to local sources local youths set off firecrackers and threw homemade firebombs at military vehicles carrying troops at the main entrance to Azzun town.
Consequently the Israeli forces spread through the area and responded by chasing the young men and firing tear gas canisters and rubber bullets at them.
Israel’s settlement encroachment has devoured half of the town’s area. Azzun stretches westward inside the 1948 occupied land to Azzun forest which Israel falsely calls Ra’anana.
Every year the Israeli occupation forces kidnap or detain over 200 Palestinians from Azzun town.
