Palestinian citizens from Sinjil town in northern Ramallah have forced the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) to remove tents and a cattle structure that had been set up by Jewish settlers on a privately owned tract of land.
Sinjil mayor Moataz Tawafsha said that a horde of settlers had deployed four tents and a sheep pen about two weeks ago in al-Rafid area of the town.
He added that local residents and landowners had staged a sit-in for two weeks in the area and engaged in sporadic skirmishes with the settlers which forced the IOF to remove the Jewish outpost.
Tawafsha pointed out that the settlers had intents to establish a permanent settlement for themselves in the area and seize thousands of dunums of Palestinian land for that purpose.
Sinjil is encircled by three Jewish settlements two outposts and one army base.
