Palestinians in Europe to stage 7 seasons of national events as of Feb

The Palestinians in Europe Conference has launched a comprehensive program of pro-Palestine activities and events to be held during the current year 2017.

In a statement released on Thursday the conference invited citizens and all official and popular institutions and groups that believe in the Palestinian rights to actively participate in seven national seasons to be organized during the current year.

Every season will last for 10 days during which special activities highlighting the most prominent concerns and issues in the Palestinian arena will be held.

The first season will kick off on February 1st under the theme “Patronizing Gaza and breaking its siege. It aims to raise the voice against the unjust blockade on Gaza and demand an end to this crime that constitutes a gross violation against human rights” according to the statement.

The second season will start on March 10th and will be held under the theme “Defending the prisoners and detainees.” It will highlight their suffering and the violations committed against them in Israeli jails.

On May 12th the third season will be launched under the theme “Jerusalem and Aqsa belong to us.”

The fourth season will be dedicated to highlighting Israel’s separation wall and settlements and will take place on June 30th.

The fifth season is titled “Upholding the land and rights” and planned for August 25th.

“The refugees and upholding the right of return” and “one century since the Balfour declaration” will be the themes of the sixth and seventh seasons respectively. One will be held on November 24 and the other will take place throughout the year.

The statement has concluded with the conference expressing hope that the current year will be a milestone Palestinian station for the Palestinian cause and the Arab and European solidarity with it.

The Palestinians in Europe Conference which is also considered a Europe-based Palestinian organization is a major event in Europe and has been running successively for thirteen years. It has successfully bonded thousands of Palestinians to their national cause and their right of return.

The conference was held for the first time in London in 2003 and then followed by conferences in Berlin Vienna Malmo Rotterdam Copenhagen Paris and others.
