Palestinian mourners in Gaza laid to rest on Wednesday al-Qassam commander Mohammad Hassan known as Abu Nidal 61 from al-Meghraqa town in Central Gaza who passed away after struggling with illness.
The funeral was attended by leaders of Hamas Movement and of its armed wing al-Qassam Brigades led by Ismail Haneyya Head of Hamas’s Political Bureau and Hamas’s leader in Gaza Yahya al-Sinwar.
Hassan was among the first fighters of al-Qassam Brigades and those who dedicated their lives to the Islamic propagation in Gaza during the early eighties of the past century. He was arrested in 1987 and served over 24 years out of 3 life sentences and 30 years of imprisonment in Israeli jails before he was released within Wafaa al-Ahrar swap deal in 2011.
In a statement on Wednesday Al-Qassam Brigades mourned its leader Hassan who has two martyr sons; one killed in 2004 and the other in 2012 during the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
