The Palestinian residents of al-Rababa neighborhood in Silwan town in Jerusalem have launched a campaign to organize weekly gatherings on their lands which are threatened with confiscation by the Israeli authorities.
Abed al-Hakim Abu Sneineh a member of al-Rababa Neighborhood Committee called on the Palestinian residents of Silwan to flock to the targeted lands every Saturday and rally there to protect them against Israeli takeover.
According to local activists the Israeli authorities are planning to seize several dunums of land from the neighborhood to build a bridge between al-Thawri neighborhood and Nabi Dawood area with a length of 197 meters and a height of 30 meters.
