Palestinians in Syria-based refugee camp launch cry for help

Wednesday 24-October-2018

Displaced Palestinian families north of Syria continue to rally for the third week running protesting their tragic living conditions in the poorly-equipped Deir Ballout Camp.

The protesters have appealed to UNRWA to live up to its responsibilities as regards dozens of hopeless families and to provide them with much-needed cash aid medical items and relief services.

The refugees have also called on the Palestine Liberation Organization and the international human rights institutions to take urgent action in order to tone down the abject situation endured by Palestinian families north of Syria.

350 Palestinian families sheltered in Deir Ballout Camp along with 75 other families taking refuge in al-Shabiba Camp in I’zaz area in Aleppo’s suburbs have been struggling for survival after they were forcibly deported from Yarmouk Camp south of Damascus.

The rampant Syrian warfare has had disastrous fallouts on the Palestinian refugees hundreds of whom have been pronounced dead due to war-related incidents while hundreds of others have been locked up in Syrian government dungeons where dozens have also been tortured to death.
