Palestinians injured as 1450 Israeli settlers break into Islamic site

Scores of Palestinians including journalists were injured early Thursday following confrontations with Israeli soldiers giving cover to 1450 extremist Israeli settlers who raided Joseph’s Tomb in the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Local sources said Israeli patrols rolled into Balata east of Nablus and closed off the area to secure the settlers’ break in.
Buses carrying hundreds of fanatic settlers and escorted by military jeeps showed up in the area shortly after leading to clashes with the local residents.

At least 24 Palestinians sustained injuries after they were hit with Israeli bullet fire and teargas.

The Israeli military claimed a soldier was injured after anti-occupation youth stoned an army jeep.

Israel’s 0404 news site quoted the military spokesman as claiming that Palestinian protesters hurled stones and Molotov cocktails at Israeli soldiers and settlers.

Israeli settlers routinely storm Joseph’s Tomb a sacred Islamic site under heavy army protection resulting in clashes with the Palestinians.
