A number of Palestinian citizens were injured by Israeli gunfire and tear gas bombs at dawn Tuesday as hundreds of Israeli settlers forced their way into Joseph’s Tomb near Nablus City.
Local sources told Wafa that Israeli forces escorted about 1200 Jewish settlers into the site which sparked confrontations with Palestinian residents.
Quds Press reported that Israeli forces stormed Joseph’s Tomb at daybreak and threw a cordon around the place to block the movement of Palestinian residents.
Violent clashes broke out between Palestinian citizens and the Israeli forces who heavily fired rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas canisters.
At least five Palestinians were wounded by rubber-coated metal bullets and dozens others suffered breathing difficulties as a result of inhaling tear gas.
