Jewish settlers opened fire at Palestinian farmers while picking olives in their land in Khallet al-Dabe’h village south of al-Khalil on Wednesday evening.
Four farmers including an elderly who was hit with a bullet in his foot were injured during the armed attack.
Settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
However settler violence often increases during the olive harvest season.
Olive-based livelihoods in many areas of the West Bank are undermined by Jewish settlers who uproot and vandalize olive trees and by intimidation and the physical assault against farmers during the harvest itself.
