Dozens of Palestinian citizens took part in a sit-in Thursday night in Tal Rmeida neighborhood in al-Khalil city in protest at the Israeli violations they have been subjected to recently.
The sit-in was attended by residents of Tal Rmeida and other neighborhoods in addition to human rights groups. The protesters expressed their rejection of the ethnic cleansing policy pursued by the Israeli occupation authorities and settlers against the Palestinian presence.
The protesters condemned the restrictions imposed on the Palestinian citizens entering the neighborhood since 2016. Only residents who have permits with certain numbers are allowed to enter.
The protesters marching near the metal detectors installed at Tal Rmeida’s entrance stressed that the Palestinian citizens have the right to enter and exit the neighborhood freely without being strip-searched arrested or humiliated.
