Hundreds of Palestinians in Haifa took to the streets Friday evening to participate in a mass demonstration in support of Gaza under the slogan “from Haifa to Gaza: one blood and one destiny”.
The demonstrators expressed their solidarity with the Palestinians protesting along Gaza’s eastern border on the tenth Friday of the Great Return March which was named “from Gaza to Haifa”.
According to Arab 48 website the Israeli police forces and border guards were deployed in large numbers in the city.
The demonstration’s organizers said in a statement “Gaza’s protests under the slogan ‘from Gaza to Haifa’ are an important step on the path we have taken: a path of one struggle toward one hope.”
Similar protests were witnessed in Haifa last week in support of the Great Return March protests in Gaza.
Last Friday the Israeli police violently quelled a demonstration organized in Haifa and arrested 24 activists.
The Great Return March protests have been ongoing in the Gaza Strip since 30th March. At least 120 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli gunfire and over 13000 injured.
