Palestinian delegations and national figures started to flock to the Turkish city of Istanbul to participate in the two-day Popular Conference for the Palestinians Abroad slated to kick off on Saturday February 25.
The national dignitaries who have arrived in Istanbul so far include head of the Palestine Land Authority Suleiman Abu Setta former head of the Palestine Planning Center Munir Shafiq former deputy head of the Political Department of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Ribhi Halloum head of Zaytouna Center for Studies Muhsen Saleh head of Women for Jerusalem Society Na’ila al-Waari and several noted media and political figures living abroad.
More than 4000 Palestinians from different countries are expected to take part in the conference which reflects their determination to pool their efforts to support the national cause and address their concerns and problems in diaspora.
The two-day conference will include symposiums on the Palestinian cause as well as different workshops and activities.
