OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– The Peace Now movement revealed that a group of Israeli settlers intend to build three additional stories in Kubaniyet Um Haroun in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.
Peace Now said that the settlers submitted a request on Sunday to get a construction permit from the Israeli municipal council in occupied Jerusalem and described their plan as part of the Judaization activities in the holy city.
For his part director of the maps department at the Arab studies society Khalil Tafakji said commenting on the settler’s plan that Israel is trying to establish a bridge of settlement outposts extending from the western part of Jerusalem to the eastern one in order to divide the Palestinian neighborhoods into separated blocks.
Tafakji added that this settlement expansion also aimed at easily controlling these neighborhoods and creating a new demographic and geographic situation leading to the expulsion of Palestinians from Jerusalem.
In another context Hamas lawmaker Sheikh Hamed Al-Beitawi condemned Israel’s plans to change the landmarks of Al-Buraq square as part of its all-out Judaization war against the holy city.
Sheikh Beitawi called on the Palestinian people to resist and stand in the face of Israel’s schemes aimed at obliterating the Islamic identity of Jerusalem.
