The Palestinian Association for Human Rights (Witness) in Lebanon has called for participating in the signing of a petition demanding Volvo Group to respect the rules of international law.
The initiative came after Sweden’s Channel 4 revealed that Volvo (a Swedish multinational automotive company) manufactured and supplied Israel with armored prison buses used for the transfer of Palestinian detainees.
Volvo also provides Israel with buses specially made for the transportation of Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank in addition to heavy vehicles that are used to demolish Palestinian homes and structures according to the channel.
The association said Volvo’s practices strengthen Israel’s colonial activities and clearly violate the international humanitarian law and the principles advocated by the UN.
