Popular march in protest at home-demolition in Walaja town

Hundreds of Palestinians participated in a march that kicked off on Friday at a mosque in al-Walaja town west of Bethlehem city. The popular march that was led by a scout troop aimed at protesting the Israeli home-demolition policy pursued against the inhabitants.

The protesters marched towards one of the homes threatened with demolition in Ain Juwaiza area and staged a sit-in at the site. Speeches were delivered during the event in which speakers asked international organizations to prevent razing the homes of the town and to confront Israeli plans aimed at displacing the inhabitants for expanding the boundaries of Occupied Jerusalem municipality.

Lawyer Ghayyath Naser managed to win three cases at an Israeli court that stipulated halting the demolition of 27 homes in Ain Juwaiza area where a considerable number of Palestinians’ homes are threatened with demolition.
