Saturday 12-August-2017

The Palestinian wounded prisoner Abdul-Aziz Arafa from al-Duhaisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem narrated how he was assaulted at the hands of Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) when he was arrested one week ago.

Captive Arafa who is suffering from a fracture in his left leg and has been held in Hadassah Israeli hospital told the Palestinian Prisoner Society about the details of his arrest and abuse by IOF soldiers.

“I left my home early morning on August the fourth heading to my workplace in the municipality of Doha town in Bethlehem. I was shocked to see a number of IOF soldiers in front of my home. One of the soldiers fired two bullets; one in the air and the other a dumdum one was shot directly at my left leg” he said.

“The soldiers then put me on a stretcher and dropped me at the door of my house. I asked them to talk to the officer but they refused and yelled at me” he added.

“After that I was taken to the gate of the refugee camp then transferred to al-Nashash area where I was dropped and left on the ground for half an hour before being transferred to the hospital” Arafa said.

“In spite of my injury I was tied with chains since the first moment of my arrival at the hospital” he added.

Israeli military court of Ofer held last Thursday a session in absentia for extending the detention order against captive Arafa.
