Prisoner Awawdeh resumes his open-ended hunger strike

The Palestinian prisoner Khalil Al-Awawdeh resumed his open-ended hunger strike in protest at violating the promises made by the Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) to release him.

According to Muhjat Al-Quda Foundation for Martyrs and Detainees on Monday Al-Awawdeh revealed in a letter that he decided to resume his open-ended hunger strike on Saturday stressing that he will continue his hunger strike until his demands to end his detention order are accepted.

On the 21st of June Awawdeh suspended his hunger strike after 111 days in the light of the IOA promises to release him the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) reported.

The PPS announced that after two days of Awawdeh’s hunger strike suspension the IOA issued an administrative detention order against him for four months which violates the promises given to him previously.

Awawdeh a father of four from the West Bank governorate of Khalil spent 12 years in the Israeli prisons including 5 years in administrative detention.
