Prisoner Barghouthi suspends open hunger strike

Saturday 2-December-2017

The Palestinian sick captive Ali al-Barghouthi on Saturday suspended his open hunger strike he started 5 days ago. The suspension decision was made after Ashkelon prison management promised to conduct all of the required medical tests for him within two weeks.

The lawyer of Detainees and Ex-detainees Committee Karim Ajwa said that prisoner Barghouthi suffers from several health problems including heartache and fatigue.

Detainee Barghouthi from Aboud town north of Ramallah was arrested in 2004 for alleged involvement in resistance action and belonging to Fatah Movement. He is serving a life sentence and additional 40 years.
