Protest against gas deal suppressed in Amman

Friday 11-November-2016

The Jordanian security forces suppressed on Friday a protest organized outside the office of the Prime Minister in Amman against the recent gas deal with Israel.

15 Jordanian activists including women were arrested by Jordanian security forces during the protest.

Following reports on the news of the arrests many other citizens arrived at the scene to join the protest.

In August Jordan announced commitment to a gas deal worth $10 billion signed by the state-owned NEPCO with Israeli suppliers.
