Groups of Palestinian Arab and Turkish demonstrators participated on Thursday evening in a protest organized by the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions Movement (BDS) in Istanbul on the centenary of the Balfour Declaration.
The protesters waved Palestinian flags and banners in different languages stressing the illegality of the Declaration.
Coordinator Nicola Safian said “We have decided to hold a series of events to mark the ominous Balfour Declaration in addition to the protest held today including screening a number of films in some Turkish cities to recall the tragedies Balfour has brought to the Palestinian people.”
Safian added “Our activities will be concluded with a conference on the Balfour Declaration with the participation of Arab and Turkish academics.”
“Today we are witnessing a new stage of struggle that will continue until the liberation of Palestine” he emphasized.
