The Department of Islamic Endowment and of al-Aqsa Affairs strongly condemned a break-in by Israeli ministers at holy al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday.
A statement issued by the Supreme Islamic Commission the Awqaf Council Dar al-Iftaa and al-Awqaf Department denounced the assault saying Netanyahu and the Israelis do not have the right to interfere in Jerusalem’s affairs.
The statement said Muslims are the only ones who have the right to administer al-Aqsa’s affairs and Netanyahu does not have the right to green-light break-ins by MKs and ministers at the site.
The Awqaf Department held Netanyahu responsible for the repercussions of the simmering tension at al-Aqsa Mosque and Occupied Jerusalem as a result of his “irresponsible decisions.”
