GAZA (PIC)– Three Palestinian resistance fighters from the Qassam Brigades (QB) of Hamas Movement and the Nasser Salahuddin Brigades of the PRC were martyred Wednesday in fierce clashes with IOF troops attempting to advance into the eastern part of Gaza Strip.
The Hebrew radio acknowledged that a number of Israeli occupation soldiers were seriously injured in the battle and a number of military vehicles were hit with the Palestinian resistance rockets.
Palestinian hospital sources identified the victims as Khaled Al-Farra and Ahmad Awni both 23 from the QB and Suleiman Khashan 25 of the PRC. Three other fighters were also wounded in the clashes the sources added.
In a statement to the PIC correspondent in the area Hamas official sources affirmed that the fighters engaged the intruding IOF troops in face-to-face battles and inflicted heavy casualties in the invaders’ lines.
The clashes took place when an IOF infantry patrol attempted to sneak into the Karara area east of Khan Younis district but it was spotted by the resistance fighters who immediately shot at them prompting the trapped IOF troops to seek military beef up.
Israeli apache choppers rushed to the battlefield with the aim to provide air cover for the IOF troops but the Palestinian fighters succeeded in unleashing a number of their home-made mortar shells and rockets at the invaders. They also detonated a number of planted roadside bombs in the IOF armored vehicles.
The Quds Brigades armed wing of the Islamic Jihad also participated in blocking the incursion according to a responsible source in the group.
The QB along with the rest of the Palestinian resistance armed wings had repeatedly vowed to teach the IOF troops a painful lesson if they attempted to invade the populated Strip.
