Senior Hamas official Wasfi Qabha has strongly denounced the Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces for assaulting and detaining Khader Adnan and Mohamed Allan noted ex-detainees and national figures in Nablus city on Thursday.
In press remarks on Thursday Qabha a former minister and ex-detainee said that the PA security forces overstepped the red lines with their assault on such Palestinian national figures and former iconic hunger strikers.
He also called the assault as “an attack on the entire Palestinian people their struggle and the dignity of all prisoners in Israeli jails.”
The Hamas official said that a person like Sheikh Khader Adnan was supposed to be honored by the PA for his national role in confronting Israel’s administrative detention policy with “the weapon of his hunger and will” during his presence in prison.
The PA security forces arrested Adnan and Allan on Thursday evening during their participation in a popular festival held in Nablus city in solidarity with the hunger strikers in Israeli jails before releasing them later.
