Member of the Palestinian Legislative Council Fathi al-Qarawi on Saturday said that Israel has tightened its siege on Tulkarem as part of a collective punishment policy pursued against the Palestinian families living there.
Al-Qarawi said in a press statement that the Israeli occupation forces over the past month have closed all entrances to Tulkarem and targeted its residents with raids and arrests during late night hours.
Al-Qarawi denounced the collective punishment imposed on unarmed citizens in Tulkarem and asked the Palestinian Authority to hold Israel accountable for its crimes and violations at international courts.
He also called on media outlets to shed more light on what is happening in Tulkarem and expose the Israeli practices to the world.
The Palestinian MP noted that the Israeli forces have arrested all those connected to Ashraf Naalwa who carried out an anti-occupation attack a month ago and added that the media mentions very little of the tragedy experienced by Tulkarem residents.
