Gaza – Armed wing of Hamas the Qassam Brigades announced Sunday that it will review the week-long-truce with the IOF before finalizing it amidst relentless IOF troops’ violations of terms of the calm; especially in the West Bank.
“We shall evaluate the truce thoroughly and the IOF troops are to blame if that truce collapses as a natural result of the non-stop IOF aggressions on the Palestinian people in the West Bank” said Abu Obaida the spokesman of the armed wing.
He accused the Israeli occupation government of attempting to “mix cards and twist facts in the Palestinian arena” asserting that all Palestinian armed wings were still adhering to the calm and not firing their home-made missiles on Israeli settlements.
But he pointed out that those armed wings would not remain idle towards the IOF troops’ breaches of the truce after more than a hundred violations by those troops have been recorded in the West Bank since the truce went into effect a week ago.
“If they allege that they recorded 15 Palestinian violations of the truce; the Palestinians registered more than a hundred IOF violations” the spokesman underlined.
He also raised doubts over the IOF troops’ sincerity in upholding the calm as evident by the persisting IOF arrest and killing campaigns against Palestinians in the West Bank.
Commenting on calls made by the PLO’s chief negotiator MP Saeb Erikat on the armed wings to abide by the truce Abu Obaida retorted “Erikat and others couldn’t do anything to spare West Bankers the IOF troops’ aggressions; so calling on the armed wings to adhere to the truce could be very difficult in the coming days”.
The Quds Brigades armed wing of the Islamic Jihad seconded Abu Obaida’s remarks vowing to retaliate to the IOF troops’ violation of the truce that killed and wounded a number of Palestinian citizens in the West Bank in addition to kidnapping tens of others.
“We shall retaliate in the appropriate time and place” said Walid Al-Obaidi one of the Brigades field commanders.
Obaidi furthermore urged Palestinian armed wings to turn down any truce proposal that is limited to Gaza Strip and excludes the West Bank adding that the two regions are one and an inseparable place.
Similar remarks were also made by the National Resistance Brigades armed wing of the DFLP.
