AL-KHALIL (PIC)– The Qassam and Quds Brigades the armed wings of Hamas and Islamic Jihad respectively have declared joint responsibility for the raid in Al-Khalil district on Friday in which two IOF soldiers were killed.
A joint communiqué from both armed wings on Sunday said that their elements attacked a group of “enemy soldiers and settlers and engaged a patrol leading to the martyrdom of one of those elements the Qassam member Basel Natshe”. Two IOF off-duty soldiers were killed in the raid
Both denounced statements by security sources in the unconstitutional government of Salam Fayyad that described the operation as a case of “homicide” affirming that it was in retaliation to the IOF assassination and targeting of resistance fighters in the Gaza Strip and the assassinations and arrests in the West Bank.
“The raid is our united response to the enemy” the communiqué read adding “We will strike the usurping occupiers with one hand and a united rank”.
They affirmed that resistance would continue as long as occupation continued on the land of Palestine and added their absolute refusal of attempts to eliminate resistance.
They said that the delay in taking responsibility for the raid was due to pure security reasons.
