A Palestinian resistance fighter was pronounced dead on Tuesday morning in a tunnel collapse south of the blockaded Gaza Strip.

The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades Hamas’s armed wing said Hani Faraj Shalouf from Rafah city south of Gaza died after a resistance tunnel fell down.

Al-Qassam hailed the fighter’s strong sense of self-abnegation which it said was nurtured by a sincere love for his land and people.

Hamas’s armed wing vowed to keep up the anti-occupation struggle until every inch of the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories is liberated.

A member of al-Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas died at dawn Monday after a tunnel collapsed in al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City.

In a communiqué the Brigades mourned 20-year-old Anas Abu Shawish hailing the great sacrifices he made for his own people.

Cross-border tunnels are used by the Palestinian resistance in Gaza to carry out operations against the Israeli occupation army.

Several resistance fighters from al-Qassam Brigades and other factions already died during similar incidents or other missions.
