Qatar on Monday strongly denounced the Israeli government’s decision to establish a new settlement in Nablus in the occupied West Bank.
Qatari Foreign Ministry in a statement on Monday described the move as a flagrant violation of the international legitimacy resolutions.
The statement stressed that the continuation of Israeli violations would undermine the international efforts exerted to achieve the two-state solution calling on the international community to compel Israel to stop its settlement policies in the occupied Palestinian territories.
On Sunday Israeli government approved a budget of 60 million shekels ($16.7 million) for the construction of Amichai settlement as an alternative for Amona outpost which was evacuated months ago.
According to the Hebrew TV channel Seven the funds allocated for the new settlement will be funneled to Binyamin Regional Council in order to resume construction.
