Qatari ambassador Mohammed el-Emadi arrived in the Gaza Strip at dawn Friday via the Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing in preparation for disbursing the Qatari grant for the poor families in the besieged enclave.
Emadi who heads the Qatari committee for the reconstruction of Gaza Strip had signed a memo of understanding with the UN last July on the means of distributing the Qatari grant.
The Qatari ambassador had said then that the grant would give cash assistance ($100) to 100000 poor families in the Strip on monthly basis adding that the assistance would be distributed by the UN and the World Food Program.
Israel had been blocking the entry of the Qatari money to Gaza for 4 months.
