The Egyptian authorities on Sunday opened the Rafah border crossing with Gaza Strip for the second consecutive day in both directions exceptionally for the travel of humanitarian cases.
The interior ministry’s crossing and border authority in Gaza announced the departure of seven buses from Gaza Strip through Rafah crossing on Saturday.
The buses that departed on Saturday included one bus for passengers holding Egyptian passports three buses for travelers listed in the interior ministry’s records and three others for travelers based on Egyptian coordination.
The authority affirmed the arrival of a number of buses carrying stranded passengers at the Palestinian side of the crossing. An ambulance arrived as well carrying the body of a Palestinian sick man who died after travelling abroad for treatment it highlighted.
The buses that were returned on Saturday are going to be allowed to travel on Sunday along with the Ministry’s Sunday list the authority pointed out.
