A group of protesters rallied on Thursday morning outside the office of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Rafidia west of Nablus province.
The rally comes as part of protest moves over UNRWA’s intent to dismiss 150 instructors registered with the agency and cut its services to Palestinian refugee camps in the West Bank.
The rally-goers sealed off UNRWA’s entrance doors preventing staff members from coming in.
Recently UNRWA has decided to lay off 150 instructors working in its schools. The measure has prompted widespread condemnation and rage among Palestinian families and refugees who have no others sources of income.
