Hundreds of Palestinians residing in 1948 Occupied Palestine (Green Line) rallied Monday outside the Knesset in Occupied Jerusalem in protest at Israel’s unabated demolition policy.
A car parade kicked off outside the Qalansuwa municipality on way to the Israeli Knesset to speak up against Israel’s abrupt demolitions of Palestinian homes and murder of Yakoub Abu al-Kiaan in Umm al-Hiran village.
Qalansuwa mayor Abdul Bassit Salama said the parade was staged at the request of the Arab High Follow-up Committee in 1948 Occupied Palestine.
Several Palestinian leaders in 1948 Occupied Palestine along with Arab MKs and activists joined the rally.
The rally-goers lifted the Palestinian flag along with pictures of slain Abu al-Kiaan. They further chanted slogans denouncing the arbitrary demolition of Palestinian homes.
The mayor added that the Israeli police cracked down on the marchers and slapped steep fines against Palestinian drivers before they arrested a protester.
Head of the Arab Follow-up Committee Mohamed Baraka also said the march comes in response to the simmering Israeli terrorism against the Palestinians urging the Israeli police to release Abu al-Kiaan’s body without conditions.
He added that a meeting is expected to be held with EU delegates to those very ends.
MK Jamal Zahalqa also said such protest moves will be kept up until Israel ceases its arbitrary demolition policy dubbing Israel an entity that feigns democracy while it “constructs for the Jews and deconstructs for the Arabs.”
According to Palestinian sources nearly 50000 Palestinian homes are threatened with demolition by the Israeli authorities in 1948 Occupied Palestine.
