At least 353 Palestinian minors have been kidnapped or detained by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) since the beginning of the current year according to a Palestinian report.
The report was released by the Palestinian Commission for Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner Society on the occasion of the Palestinian Child Day which is observed on April 5.
The report affirmed that 350 children including eight girls are still in Israeli jails while 102 house arrest orders were issued against Palestinian children mostly from Occupied Jerusalem from 2017 January to 2018 February.
25 of those children were jailed after they completed their house arrest terms.
The report also highlighted the violations committed by the IOF and the Israeli prison service against Palestinians minors throughout the different stages of their arrest and detention.
It focuses on several events and violations including physical and psychological torture which Palestinian children face during detention interrogation and trial.
