Member of Hamas’s Political Bureau Izzat al-Resheq on Monday said that cancelling the Israeli-African summit that was scheduled to be held in Togo in October is a victory for the defenders of the Palestinian cause who have worked hard to prevent Israel from extending its influence in Africa.
Resheq said in statements on Twitter that cancelling the conference is part of the series of African victories achieved against all forms of injustice racism fascism and apartheid which are presently embodied in the Israeli occupation.
Haaretz website reported on Monday that the African-Israeli summit was postponed without setting an alternative date.
Haaretz claimed that Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to postpone the summit scheduled for October at the request of the Togolese President Faure Gnassingbé who said that the summit requires a “serious and extensive” preparation.
