Member of Hamas’s political bureau Ezzat al-Resheq has deplored the Israeli occupation police for silencing the Isha Adhan (call to prayer) at the Aqsa Mosque in order to hold a ceremony marking what he described as “the founding anniversary of their alleged entity.”
In Twitter remarks last night Resheq condemned such Israeli practice as another reprehensible act of provocation and a persistent attempt to impose Israeli control and guardianship over the Aqsa Mosque and the Islamic rituals.
Israeli police officers silenced the Isha call to prayer at the Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday evening after cutting off electricity to its external loudspeakers claiming that the Adhan sound would disturb the Israeli officials who were attending a nighttime ceremony held at the Mosque’s western wall.
