Resheq calls on Abbas to read election results of engineers syndicate

Sunday 28-October-2007

DAMASCUS (PIC)– Ezzat Al-Resheq a member of the Hamas political bureau called on PA chief Mahmoud Abbas to read the results of the syndicate of the Palestinian engineers’ elections in the Gaza Strip in which the list of the Islamic Quds affiliated with Hamas achieved a sweeping victory.

In a democratic atmosphere on Friday Islamic Quds candidate Dr. Osama Al-Eisawi won the syndicate’s chairmanship with 94 percent of the vote while two percent went to the other contestant Dr. Issam Abu Ghali.

“The results of the engineers syndicate’s elections all over the Gaza provinces in which Hamas achieved a big victory clearly indicate that the aggravated siege imposed as punishment on the Gaza people for rallying around Hamas only increased Gaza people’s adherence to their choice of the movement and resistance” Resheq stated in an exclusive press statement to the PIC.

The Hamas leader added: “It is incumbent on the PA chief to read the reality well and to reconsider his divisive and exclusionary policies as well as his position in support of the Zio-American siege imposed on the Gaza people.”

He finally called on the PA chief to give the supreme national interest precedence over his factional interest and to stop wagering on “Rice and Olmert’s delusional promises” describing these Zio-American promises as a cover up for Israel to gain more time to escalate its aggressions against the Palestinian people.
