Residents of Bustan hold Friday prayers in the protest tent

Friday 20-January-2012

SILWAN (PIC)– Dozens of residents of the Bustan neighbourhood of the Silwan suburb of occupied Jerusalem held the Friday prayers in their protest tent.

Sheikh Eyad al-Abbasi the Jerusalem Islamic Judge who led the prayers talked about the latest developments especially the dangers posed to the occupied holy city. Things like land confiscation threats and expansion of settlements calling on the Ummah to support Jerusalem and its residents reminding them that the loss of Jerusalem means the loss of the whole Ummah.

The Sheikh condemned intentions of the occupation authorities to ban Athan and called on the Mu’azens (those who recite the call for prayers in mosques) not to submit to occupation threats.

He called Palestinians to unite so that they could face the threats and protect the holy places.

The Silwan residents held a protest in the tent to protest occupation measures against Jerusalem and its Palestinian residents in general and the Silwan suburb in particular and against the accelerated Judaization of the holy city as well as home demolition orders.
