KHAN YOUNIS (PIC)– Palestinian resistance fighters on Monday engaged IOF soldiers who invaded the Qarara town to the east of Khan Younis south of the Gaza Strip near the IOF base in Kissufim.
Local sources told PIC that the resistance fighters fired a projectile at an IOF army jeep near the security fence separating the Strip from the 1948 occupied lands.
Violent clashes ensued for about an hour they said adding that IOF choppers hovered over the area while foot patrols sneaked into the town.
The army choppers sprayed civilian homes and forced farmers to abandon their cultivated lands.
Meanwhile the IOF command claimed that its forces foiled a Palestinian attempt to storm the Shavi Shimron settlement north of Nablus city.
The Hebrew radio quoted military sources as saying that a Palestinian armed man tried to infiltrate into the settlement but the forces clashed with him and forced him to flee. No resistance faction claimed responsibility for the alleged raid.
The Hebrew radio also quoted an IOF spokesman as saying that his troops rounded up 13 Palestinians in various West Bank areas at dawn Monday for suspicion of affiliation with resistance factions.
