Palestinian resistance fighters opened fire at dawn Thursday at the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) who escorted several Jewish settlers to Joseph’s Tomb in Nablus City in order to perform rituals.
According to local sources the IOF stormed the eastern area of Nablus with over 80 military vehicles and some bulldozers and spread in the streets around Joseph’s Tomb to secure the area for the settlers.
Several snipers were also deployed on rooftops of some homes near the tomb.
The sources said that one Palestinian was injured in his hand and another one suffered from his exposure to tear gas during clashes with the IOF in the area.
The sources added that a small number of settlers entered the eastern area of the city aboard armored military vehicles instead of buses as usual and stayed at the mausoleum for only one hour because of the security situation in the West Bank.
